Is it better to roll your hair with sponge rollers when your hair is damp or dry? Do you sleep in them?

I want my hair to curl, how can I do that?Is it better to roll your hair with sponge rollers when your hair is damp or dry? Do you sleep in them?
Don't use sponge rollers. Depending on what time you take them out the next day you could use the chance of your hair not being dry yet. Use regular curlers/roller. Some people have trouble keeping the hair wrapped around the roller. I cut small pieces of a brown paper sack (or regular paper) and wrap it around the roller. Then wrap damp hair around that and secure it with a bobby pin. You can either start at the top of your hair or bottom. REMEMBER ROLL UNDER AND NOW OUT/UP. You hair will go crazy if you roll it up. Spritz it with a wet holding spray. Then put on a fish net hair net or wrap it in a bandana and go to sleep :) You can touch it up in the morning with a regular curling iron and hairspray These curls should last all day and longer. I am a hair and make up designer for a theatre. Good luck!
